Garyu Sanso Villa
The villa is a refined building overlooking the deep waters of the scenic Garyu-buchi in the Hiji River basin, known by its nickname the "Katsura Imperial Villa of Ozu." With the sumptuous designs decorating even the smallest parts of the building, its beauty prompted Japan’s leading architect, Kisho Kurokawa, to say, “I want to take possession of it even if I were to go into debt.” The clear air refreshes the mind, and the silence makes you forget the world. It is an extraordinary architectural work where ancient Japanese beauty and character meet.
