Momotaro Karakuri Museum
"What was the Legend of Momotaro like?! Find the answer here..."
A slightly rare museum exhibiting materials about one of Japan's famous children's folk tales,"Momotaro".
From an interactive experience corner for children, to exhibits of ancient documents and historical artifacts from the Edo period (1603–1868), the museum is enjoyable for a wide range of ages. Seasonal events are also held. If you are lucky, the museum curator will give a wonderful performance with a "chikuwa whistle" made from an actual chikuwa (tube-shaped fish cake). Furthermore, there are many fun installations, such as the amazing demon-infested caves of “Onigashima” (Demon Island) and karakuri optical illusion gimmicks.
