Botchan Train
The steam train used as the popular means of transportation for citizen for 67 years since 1888, which gradually came to be known as its nickname "Botchan Ressha (train)," as the central character in "Botchan," a popular novel by Soseki Natsume, Japan’s great literary figure. Passengers can taste a modern atmosphere from the wooden interior and the uniform of conductors reminiscent of that time. A broad range of generations, from adults to small children, can enjoy the ride.
