Kurushima Strait Tidal Current Tour Boats
From these boats, visitors can witness the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea island archipelago and see the Kurushima Strait tidal current, one of three fast tidal currents in Japan, up close.
Furthermore, the Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge, the world's first bridge consisting of three successive suspension bridges, can be seen from the sea surface (passes under the bridge). The characteristic shipyards of Imabari, Japan's greatest maritime city, can also be seen from inside the bay. For historical sights, visitors can see sites such as Kurushima, an island home to the castle ruins of the Murakami pirates from the Sengoku period that was designated as a Japanese heritage site in April 2016, as well as Oshima, an island with the ruins of cannons from the Geiyo Fortress built during the Meiji period. This interactive cruise offers plenty of attractions for history fans and non-history fans alike.
In addition, there is a seafood restaurant nearby where diners can enjoy fresh seafood and barbeque roast on a charcoal brazier, while enjoying a view of the Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge.
