Yokaichi Gokoku Machinami

The approximately 600-meter-long street is lined with the traditional architecture of tradesmen’s houses and the residences of wealthy merchants, preserved as they were back in the day, giving visitors a sense of a bygone Japan. The area is full of places of interest, including the museum exhibiting things that show the old way of life and traditional industries, and the “Uchiko-za,” a kabuki theater built over 100 years ago. There is also a kimono rental service that makes it easy for visitors to try on a kimono and take a stroll along the street.
